Free Charlotte History Festival Featuring Local Artists, Live Music, Food & Beverages


The Trail of History and Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation invite you to an exciting community celebration—the Mecklenburg 250 Festival—as we honor the 250th anniversary of Captain Jack’s legendary ride to Philadelphia


Saturday, May 10, 2025: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Mecklenburg 250 Festival brings together history, culture, and community in an engaging and interactive way. Attendees will enjoy:


  • Live history programming & educational exhibits that highlight Mecklenburg’s rich past

  • Meck Dec 250 memorabilia for sale

  • Community outreach organizations dedicated to making a difference

  • Delicious food & beverages from local vendors

Our mission is to recapture and preserve the significance of key people who contributed to the history, growth, and development of Mecklenburg County by erecting larger than life representative statues along the urban section of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.
